**Your new role**

Reporting to the Senior Manager Government Relations and Public Policy, the Government Relations and Public Policy Adviser is responsible for undertaking research and policy analysis to support the Funds policy advocacy and Government Relations activities.
- Provide timely analysis of emerging regulatory and legislative changes, in consultation with expert SMEs
- Prepare evidentiary research on key policy issues
- Prepare submissions in response to Parliamentary and other inquiries on behalf of the Fund
- Prepare Government Relations materials including briefing packs and Committee engagement
- Develop sound and reasoned policy suggestions for the purpose of improving Australia's superannuation system (and related regulatory frameworks) in line with the Fund's purpose to help members achieve their best financial position in retirement and our ambition that all Australians live well in retirement.
- Coordinate electorate office constituent requests with relevant Member operations experts

The Analyst will partner with the Government Relations and Public Policy team to ensure the Fund's reputation is enhanced through our policy positioning and engagement to effect best policy outcomes for our Members.

**What you'll need**
- Post-Graduate Degree in Economics, Law, Finance or Social Sciences.
- To be capable of developing superannuation policy expertise.
- Have strong technical skills in either public policy analysis, data analysis or legal and regulatory policy,.
- High level understanding of public policy frameworks, legislative and policy development processes.
- Policy and legislative analysis, including the ability to identify and advise on the potential impacts of policy change across large, complex organisations.
- Strong understanding of industry funds and their role in the superannuation industry.
- Communications experience and the ability to translate complex policy and data points to simple, accessible language..
- Well-developed conceptual and strategic thinking and sound judgement.
- Outstanding strategic policy and planning skills.
- Excellent research and analytical skills
- Ability to develop innovative and sound policy submissions.
