Key Duties and Accountabilities
- Provide high quality and consistent land use planning advice to internal and external customers on sustainably managing, using and allocating the State's natural resources.
- Undertake projects including coordination of policy and legislation reviews, provision of operational support to planning officers and other tasks as directed by management. This includes providing a project management role and assisting in the achievement of project goals.
- Foster and maintain strong linkages and professional contact with various internal and external clients and represent the department at a range of forums.
- Research, monitor and engage in legislative, policy and strategic initiatives across disciplines internal and external to the department, relevant to planning and sustainable development matters.
- Contribute to the preparation of complex reports, submissions, briefing notes, presentations, publications and correspondence which may involve the use of a suite of information systems including Geographic Information Systems.
- Operate successfully as part of a multi-disciplinary team that is flexible to change and manages a diverse and unpredictable workload.
- Contribute to the planning processes for the allocation and use of State Lands.
- Other duties as directed and required.
