
Principal Data Linkage Officer

The role Reporting to the Manager Data Linkage, Statistical Analysis and Linkage Unit, you will lead the planning, implementation, and continuous improvement of data linkage processes and data assets in alignment with contemporary information management practices and departmental policies. Your role involves developing data linkage models and scripts to extract, transform and link data, interrogating and analysing linked data, implementing corrective actions for linked data quality, as well as implementing and improving business processes.
Additionally, you will provide expert advice and technical support on data linkage to clients, team members, and stakeholders, and represent the Manager, Data Linkage, and the department in national, state, and Queensland Health committees and projects. Collaborating with clients and stakeholders, you will contribute to the development of data integration capabilities that transform collected data into valuable information for research, decision-making, and policymaking. Your commitment to managing information in accordance with security policies and standards, ensuring confidentiality, security, availability, and integrity, is paramount. Embodying Queensland Public Service values, you will actively engage in collaboration and consultation to fulfill the accountabilities of your role.The successful personSuccess in this role requires a demonstrated proficiency in handling complex relational datasets, encompassing storage, extraction, manipulation, linkage, analysis, and presentation. Essential to the position are advanced programming skills in Oracle SQL (DML and DDL), SAS, R, or equivalent. The role entails initiating, implementing, managing, and completing intricate data linkage projects, highlighting a comprehensive understanding of linkage methodology and advanced proficiency in data linkage software.
