The role
Reporting to the Manager, Commercialisation and Intellectual Property, Office of Reseearch and Innovation (ORI) the Principal Project Officer role will analyse complex intellectual property and implement governance structures to ensure Queensland Health remains compliant with legislative guidelines. This role works closely with the Business Development and Research teams to support the development of commercialisation plans, timelines and budgets for current and prospective projects. The Principal Project Officer will promote the translation of Intellctual property into better health outcomes for Queensland.
The successful person

**You will have demonstrated**:

- Sound knowledge and experience of intellectual property laws and management within a health system and how it interfaces with the research sector and industry.
- Strategic evaluation and creative thinking skills in terms of business models, innovation projects, and government-industry-university linkages.
- Proven engagement, consultation, negotiation and communication skills with tenacity to navigate competing priorities, as well as influence positive outcomes.
- Sound program management and leadership skills to support good governance and successful delivery of projects to achieve program objectives.

The Office of Research and Innovation (ORI) works to improve the health of Queenslanders by supporting and enhancing the medical research outcomes achieved across Queensland. This will be achieved through engagement of clinical researchers and other research partners, leveraging of industry opportunities, and translating research achievements into improved health outcomes for patients.
