**As Principal Policy Officer, you will specifically**:

- Provide high level advice to ensure the efficient, effective and coordinated development of departmental strategies.
- Provide strategic analysis and advice on complex policy, program and legislative issues.
- Provide leadership and coordination of responses to identify departmental outcomes and strategies.
- Ensure a high level of liaison and consultation occurs to assist in the development and implementation of the whole-of-government policy, budget and reporting framework for departmental strategies.
- Develop and maintain effective linkages with staff and other departmental stakeholders to ensure the needs and issues identified are appropriately reflected in policy and programs.
