Manager, Business Controls

**How will I help?**

The Manager, Business Controls and Monitoring provides high quality first line risk guidance and support to BT Super. This role plays a key role in supporting the risk management and monitoring including the implementation and adherence to the risk management framework, policies and controls. It is an expectation of this role to support a strong risk culture that embodies our ethics and integrity, balancing commercial and customer needs.

You will enjoy partnering with stakeholders and bring a pragmatic approach to drive and develop a risk first culture and awareness in day-to-day business decisions and business strategic initiatives. This includes promoting and driving a robust risk and controls culture that optimises risk and reward, and ensures risk and compliance are key considerations in business decisions to help achieve business objectives.

Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

- Contributing to ensuring the divisional and business operations and risk management practices align to the frameworks, policies, risk strategy, regulatory obligations, and appetite of the Group.
- Supporting the business to drive a strong risk culture and awareness in day-to-day business decisions and business strategic initiatives.
- Acting as the first point of contact in relation to the BT Super risk controls and policies and provides advice or input into business risks and issues.
- Working across BT Super and vendors to provide insights into potential risk issues / impacts.
- Supporting management in the pro-active consideration of the risk and control implications of key projects and change management initiatives to drive the timely and cost-effective incorporation of future controls.
- Facilitating regular reviews to ensure ongoing operation within the business' defined risk appetite, and capture supporting metrics and thresholds.
- Coaching and supporting business resources in how to perform controls and self-assessments and comply with their risk and compliance obligations; utilising various coaching and training methods i.e. facilitating workshops to identify control related issues and aid in the development of solutions and remediation plans.
- Monitoring effectiveness of self-assessment practices, highlight gaps and risks outside appetite and escalate as required.
- Assessing compliance and support the business in meeting ongoing compliance obligations relevant to a Super Trustee.

**What do I need?**

Relevant industry qualifications in risk, compliance, legal or finance and experience supporting change initiatives and risk in change are highly desired.

You are a strategic and innovative thinker with a strong focus on driving results within a fast paced and changing environment and driving a high-performance team culture. Your analytical and critical thinking ability, risk and compliance knowledge and exceptional communication skills, will help you succeed in this role.
