Nestled in the heart of the popular wharf precinct, a short walk to the city's central business district, the hotel is surrounded by a wide selection of much-loved dining and nightlife options.
Ovolo Woolloomooloo features 100 guest rooms, a state-of-the-art gym, meeting rooms and events spaces, a swimming pool, and Bar Woolloomooloo.The GigWe are currently on the lookout for our next Commis Chef to join our fun and exciting team at Ovolo
As Commis Chef, you will be Reporting to the Head Chef and Sous Chef, you will be a motivated person with a positive attitude who has an interest to progress your culinary career, develop your skills, and work within the varying styles of kitchen operations.
You will be responsible for producing a wide range of quality products whilst exercising your knowledge of hygiene and food safety and maintaining our high guest service standards.
We are looking for Part-Time or Casual position and will require flexibility within your availability.
Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:Assist with producing menus and new dishes.Actively share ideas, opinions and suggestions in daily shift briefingsMaintain proper rotation of product in all chillers to minimise wastage/spoilageEnsure storeroom requisitions are accurateHave full knowledge of all menu items, daily features and promotionsEnsure the cleanliness and maintenance of all work areas, utensils, and equipmentFollow kitchen policies, procedures and service standardsFollow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverageAbout youAt Ovolo, we are all about YOU.

You're a hard-working individual that's not scared to jump in and help where needed.
Ideally you have at least 2 years work experience in similar role, exceed basic cooking - ability to work well in a team.
You should have a valid Food Safety Certificate or willing to get one prior to starting.
We ask that you provide flexibility in your availability, willing to work various shifts, including nights and weekends.
You have good communication skills and the ability to receive and carry out instructions and professional within a fast-paced environment.
