An exciting opportunity currently exists for an enthusiastic and highly experienced **Administration Officer** to join our Nephrology Department**.**
**Details of Department**
The Department of Nephrology, also known as the Renal Unit at Austin Health (AH), operates within the Medical Services Division. The role is based within Renal Administration, on the Austin Campus.
The Renal Unit provides services for patients with all stages of chronic kidney disease, including:
- Inpatient services for acute, chronic and end-stage kidney disease
- Consultative services for inpatients of other units
- General and specialty Nephrology outpatient clinics
- Living and deceased donor kidney transplantation
- Acute emergency dialysis
- Chronic hospital satellite and home dialysis (haemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis)
- Genetic kidney disease diagnosis and treatment.
- Palliative care
- Clinical Trials and research, including laboratory research
The service comprises four metropolitan dialysis units (Central Dialysis Unit, Repat Dialysis Unit, Epping Dialysis Unit and the North Eastern Kidney Service) and four regional dialysis satellites (Cohuna, Orbost, Bairnsdale and Echuca). Consultation and outreach services are provided to three regional centres (Bairnsdale, Sale and Echuca). A separate Home Therapies Centre offers training and support for home haemodialysis, haemodiafiltration and peritoneal dialysis. An inpatient ward comprising 24 beds provides acute care for patients with renal failure and kidney transplant patients.
**Details of position/position requirements**
The Administrative Officer - Department of Nephrology, provides secretarial and business support to all arms of the Renal Service at Austin Health including Personal Assistant duties to the Medical Director of Nephrology.
