The business has also expanded into sales, ripening, and processing of produce.About the RoleWe are seeking a motivated Agronomist to join our team.
In this role, you will be involved in key agricultural activities such as crop protection, nutrition, innovation projects, trials, and monitoring crop health and yield.Reporting to the Senior Agronomist, your responsibilities will include:Collaborating with internal and external contacts including Farming Managers, suppliers, and contractors.Monitoring pests and diseases, reporting findings, and contributing to crop management systems.Assisting with calibration of fertiliser spreaders, air-blast misters, and spray booms on farms.Conducting trials, collecting and analyzing data, and reporting results.Communicating monitoring and trial outcomes, findings, and recommendations.Supporting the management of IPM and biological systems for tropical production in the Wet Tropics.Participating in research and development activities, including trial design, fieldwork, data analysis, and reporting.Providing agronomic support for current and future cropping systems.Inspecting crop health and irrigation needs.Conducting soil and tissue testing to manage crop nutrition strategies.Skills and ExperienceA degree in Agricultural Science or a related field.Knowledge of crop nutrition, irrigation, and pest and disease management.Ability to analyze, interpret, and report data.Strong attention to detail.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
