KB Food Co is Australia's largest seafood company and one of the most awarded and successful food service operators and the largest privately owned operator of Western Rock Lobster. We provide over 50,000 tonnes of seafood annually to leading foodservice operators and major supermarkets.

Our brands include, KB Seafood Co, Just Caught Frozen Seafood, KB's, By George and Kailis Bros, which is used under license, and we have over 2,700 active products in the market. Additionally, we are also one of the most awarded and successful food service operators in Australia.

We are currently seeking a motivated and experienced **QC Assistant** to join our busy team in Canning Vale. The hours of this role will be Monday to Friday, 38 hours/week.

**Salary: $31.89/hour + Superannuation + Overtime Pay, as applicable**

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Pre - Op checks: Daily (Morning) check that the cleaner has cleaned all machinery and that the production floor is ready to start processing.
- Cleaning Validation - Daily (Morning) use ATP Swabs to assess the cleanliness of the factory.
- Scale calibration checks - Daily (Morning) check that all scales are reading correctly so that we don't overcharge or undercharge our customers
- Metal Detector Memory checks - Daily (Start & End of shift) check that all metal detectors can detect metal following the memory test
- Metal Detector checks - Daily (Every Product) check that all metal detectors can detect metal using the test pieces
- Gas Analyser Checks - Daily (Every Product) check that the gas levels in the packs are correct to give the product the best shelf life
- Collect retention samples - Daily (As per schedule) collect retention samples as per retention samples schedule and for product assessments (Internal validation or for laboratory analysis)
- Air Temperatures Checks - Daily (Periodic - 2 hourly) check that the production floor, chillers and freezer temperatures are compliant.
- Thermometer Verification Checks - Daily (Morning) check that the handheld thermometers are reading correctly
- Loose items Register - (Start and End) check the loos items list and issue
- Review production records daily and communicated any issues to responsible staff members
- Record all findings and file daily records systematically for traceability
- Ensure appropriate corrective action are taken in a timely manner, particularly for CCP's
- Complete Black Bag (foreign body) audits - Weekly, carry out black bag / foreign body inspection of the dress up areas, production areas, workstations, packing lines, chillers, finished goods area
- Any other duties necessary to ensure the responsibilities of the role are executed.

- Good Communication Skills
- Sound understanding of all WH&S Protocols

**Essential Requirements**:

- HACCP or Food Safety Training
- Previous experience in a similar role
- Experience in the food industry, such as seafood, meat, or poultry, or in food safety inspection
- WA drivers' license & reliable transport
- Full Australian Working Rights
