A leading not-for-profit organization in Melbourne is seeking a Commercial Director to join their finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and mentoring a small finance team, providing expert financial and commercial advice to the CEO and Board, overseeing financial operations, driving commercial opportunities, and presenting financial insights and business cases.
Responsibilities:
Lead a small finance team to deliver accurate reporting, payroll, and compliance.
Provide trusted financial and commercial advice to senior executives.
Oversee budgeting, forecasting, audit, and financial operations.
Identify and drive commercial opportunities, including grant development and revenue diversification.
Present financial insights and business cases that support growth and impact.
Requirements:
CPA (or CA) qualification with proven experience in a senior finance leadership role.
Strong track record in managing small finance teams, including payroll and finance operations.
Excellent communication skills to translate financials into clear insights.
Experience advising executives and Boards on financial strategy and commercial opportunities.
Knowledge of not-for-profit finance, compliance, and funding models.
