The focus of the environment team is to implement the Environmental Strategic programs and manage risk and compliance, ensuring the outcomes are achieved and embedded at site level, to improve environmental performance.

In your new role of Manager, Environment you will lead the environment function for the Renewables, Gas, and Customer Markets team to:
- Manage, support, drive and monitor environmental compliance and the development of environmental components of the HSEMS- Implement the HSEMS, Environmental Strategic programs and compliance frameworks for site and across Integrated Energy- Coach, mentor and support the site leadership team in Environment matters

This a fixed term contract position for 12 months offering family friendly hybrid working arrangements, allowing you the opportunity to perform meaningful work without losing sight of the important things outside of the office.

About You

With experience working with environmental management systems, undertaking environmental audits and environmental data management and reporting, you will have broad technical environmental skills including the understanding of solid waste management, emissions to air, discharges to water, contamination of land and groundwater.

Your expertise in risk management will have a direct impact on the reduction of environment incidents and contribution to reducing the potential for litigation associated with incidents. In addition, you will have a thorough understanding of Local, State and Federal planning approvals and pathways and environmental legislation across Australia and possess a high level of business acumen and an awareness of the impacting priorities within a large, complex organisation.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to engage with people at all levels will contribute to you developing quality relationships with regulatory authorities, Councils, consultants, and contractors.

Keeping abreast of relevant legislation, regulations and environmental management practice, you will have a strategic understanding of project management methodologies and be able to confidently provide advice and support on environmental aspects of projects and operations.

What you bring to the table:
- A Degree in Engineering, Science or Environment Management or equivalent along with 5+ years relevant managing teams within an environmental function
