- About the Role Service Stream are looking for a motivated and driven individual to join us as the First Nations Engagement Manager. The First Nations Engagement Manager is responsible for assisting the business in meeting its First Peoples employment, procurement, training, and community engagement targets. This role ensures the delivery of contract requirements related to First Peoples and supports the National First Peoples Manager in the implementation of the Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP). This role will build and strengthen organizational capability and cultural awareness while fostering meaningful relationships with First Peoples businesses, employees, and communities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver programs of work that assist the business to meet its First Nations procurement targets.
- Deliver programs that uplift the attraction, retention, and career progression of First Peoples employees within Service Stream.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders to drive positive outcomes for First Peoples in alignment with contract requirements.
- Work collaboratively across the organisation to promote cultural awareness and ensure First Peoples engagement initiatives are embedded into business operations.
- Facilitate relationships with First Peoples businesses, subcontractors, and social enterprises to create economic opportunities.
- Oversee and support the implementation of First Peoples Participation Plans across business units.
- Assist the National First Peoples Manager in delivering the Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) commitments, tracking progress, and reporting outcomes.
- Raise internal and external awareness of the RAP and promote reconciliation initiatives within Service Stream.
- Work with Traditional Custodians and cultural training providers enhance team knowledge and understanding of First Peoples culture.
- Participate in key strategic projects, share lessons learned, and contribute to continuous improvement efforts within the organization
About you:
- Demonstrated experience in First Peoples community engagement within the services, construction, or infrastructure industry.
- Experience in employment programs, procurement, stakeholder engagement, or related disciplines.
- Strong relationship-building skills with First Peoples businesses, networks, and communities.
- Ability to effectively liaise with a variety of stakeholders, including government agencies, contractors, and local community groups.
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in community services, engagement, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
