**Your New Role**:
The Coding Service is currently recruiting experienced Coding Auditor/Educator to join their dedicated team.
- This is an exciting opportunity for motivated Health Information Managers and Clinical Coders to advance their career as part of a prestigious, values-based organisation. You'll be involved in:
- Mentor and assist in training, education and auditing of both new coding staff and existing staff
- Participate in external coding/casemix audits as required
- Abstracting and coding challenging and varied casemix
- Utilising 3M Codefinder as your coding tool
- Involvement in team leadership activities such as ensuring the team meets monthly coding deadlines by co-ordinating end of month coding
- A culturally and gender balanced team that fosters innovation, teamwork and creativity
- Lead and work collaboratively within small groups to problem solve coding questions and discuss processes
**About you**:
You have completed a Bachelor of Health Information Management or equivalent, as well as:
- A minimum of 3 years post graduate experience in a clinical coding position, preferably at tertiary level
- Previous staff recruitment and management experience
- Eligible for membership of the Health Information Association of Australia (HIMAA)
- Business planning experience and ability to set and meet strategic goals
- Previous staff training and education experience
- Demonstrated experience of accurate coding of complex inpatient episodes using ICD-10-AM and ACHI
- Expert knowledge of current Australian and Victorian Coding Standards and the ICD-10-AM and ACHI classification
- Thorough understanding of the Victorian Admitted Episodes Dataset and the Policy and Funding Guidelines - Victorian Public Hospitals, Victorian Criteria for Reporting, DRG grouper logic
- Highly developed oral and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Excellent computing skills including Microsoft Office suite
