About the company

Rimex Wheel Pty Ltd is the world's leading customer manufacturer of earthmover wheels and rims, with branches throughout Australia and worldwide in the major mining areas.

We are looking for a suitably qualified Workshop Supervisor with outstanding team leading experience to join our team at our Perth Branch in Redcliffe.

As a Workshop Supervisor you will be responsible for overseeing the day to day operations, meeting the set production targets and providing leadership and direction to the team. You will report directly to the Branch Manager..

Responsibilities including but not limited to:
Direct supervision of all staff.
Technical support and direction to workshop employees.
Knowledge of welding, fabrication and NDT principles
Technical Support of company products to employees and customers.
Ensure staff are following all safety direction and procedure applicable to tasks being performed.
Sign of on staff time sheets and leave.
Planning and quoting for all jobs.
Signing off on all completed jobs.
Assist Branch Manager with budgeting inventory
Liaison between sales staff, customers and workshop.
Ensure all crack testing is performed to the Australian Standards.
Ensure all welding is performed to Australian standards.
Ensure that dispatch receiving local deliveries/pickups are efficient and timely.
Liaise and deal with external suppliers.
Run tool box talks as and when required to inform and address issue with staff.
Plan daily activities for all factory personnel
Mentoring and training apprentices and staff.
Source new tooling and develop improved processes to improve factory productivity, safety and reduce cost.
Monitor procedure and task for risk reduction and safety improvements
Lead by example with safety and work ethics.
Ensure housekeeping standards are kept.
Ensure factory tooling is safe to use and all statutory inspection are current.
Ensure all documentation for jobs is completed, sign off and place in appropriate file.
Communication: ensure flow of communication between factory staff, office staff, sales and customers.

Essential criteria:
The applicant must possess a high degree of written and verbal communication skills and be able to manage a small team effectively.

Accordingly, being a suitably qualified Boilermaker/Welder would be an advantage

The applicant must be able to set priorities and delegate tasks to achieve strict delivery deadlines whilst ensuring the workshop runs smoothly and efficiently.

Highly Desirable:
Sub Merged Arc Welding qualification/experience.

Certificate III in Front Line Management or the ability to obtain.

Applicants must have full Australian working rights
