About The Role
As Legal Counsel – Commercial, you will provide high-level legal advice, strategic thinking, as well as expert drafting and negotiation capability across:
Large-scale construction-related contracts, including disputes
Major projects and multi-disciplinary commercial matters for Council
Senior legal and management support to the Senior Legal Counsel (Corporate Governance and Commercial) and the Deputy General Counsel
About You
Have a minimum of 7 years post admission experience gained in construction and/or major projects.
Candidates with more experience are also encouraged to apply.
Strong background in commercial law, ideally with experience in construction, infrastructure or major projects
Background or experience in intellectual property and information technology projects
Ability to provide clear, strategic legal advice in complex matters
Demonstrated negotiation and stakeholder management skills
Capacity to support and mentor senior and junior lawyers and contribute to corporate governance outcomes
