With a strong local presence and a commitment to making a positive environmental impact, we deliver essential services across the country.Our team is growing, and we're looking for a qualified Diesel Fitter Mechanic to join us at our Swanbank Landfill site and help keep our essential fleet safe, maintained, and operational.The opportunityYou'll be working across a diverse range of vehicles and mobile equipment, including trucks, trailers, generators, and compressors.
Your main responsibilities will include routine maintenance, fault diagnosis, and attending to breakdowns.What you'll be doingDiagnosing and repairing diesel engines, fuel systems, cooling systems, and morePerforming regular servicing, lubrication, and preventative maintenanceTesting engine performance and fine-tuning for optimal operationRebuilding engines and fabricating or repairing parts when requiredUsing specialized tools and mechanical equipment to solve problemsResponding to breakdowns on-siteWhat you'll bringQualified Diesel Mechanic, Heavy Vehicle, Mobile Plant, Light Vehicle Mechanic, or Auto-ElectricianExperience in the maintenance and repair of trucks, trailers, and mobile equipmentStrong mechanical, diagnostic, and problem-solving skillsAbility to work autonomously and as part of a collaborative, professional teamA background in road transport, plant equipment, or similar fields is desirableWhat we offerDay shift, 6:00am startsMonday to Friday, with possible overtime on SaturdaysPermanent, stable employment with one of Australia's most respected essential service providersAttractive pay rate and access to high-quality tools and equipmentSupportive team environment with low staff turnover – we're looking for someone who values long-term stabilityVaried, hands-on work across a wide range of vehicles and plant equipmentMeaningful work that helps keep essential community services runningTo apply, you'll need to:Provide a relevant trade qualification in mechanical fitting or diesel mechanicsBe able to pass a police check and complete a pre-employment medical (including drug and alcohol screening)REMONDIS is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
