MacKellar Group has partnered with Middlemount Coal since 2015, providing a large equipment hire fleet with full maintenance services at the Middlemount Coal mine site.

We are industry leaders in the mining and civil earthmoving industries with over 50 years of experience, operating a large fleet of heavy earthmoving equipment across Australia. We pride ourselves on our people, safety culture, and maintaining our equipment to a high standard.

We are seeking experienced Diesel Fitters to join our growing and well-established operation at Middlemount Mine.

Your new role

Secure a permanent position within our maintenance department, working a 7/7 rotating roster.

  • Perform machine maintenance, including component replacement, overhaul, general repairs, fault diagnostics, PM servicing, refueling, and inspections.
  • Ability to work day and night shifts.
  • Complete planned repairs within time and budget constraints.
  • Be self-motivated and able to work as directed.
  • Follow procedures for preventative maintenance.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Trade qualification with post-trade experience in the mining industry (Heavy Duty Diesel Fitter or Plant Mechanic).
  • Current Coal Board Medical & Standard 11 (or willingness to obtain).
  • Current Queensland driver's license.
  • Experience with heavy earthmoving equipment.
