We are recruiting psychologists to join our dynamic and innovative wellbeing workforce - South East region team, to provide support to young people enrolled in state schools in both Logan and Gold Coast.
The successful candidate/s will provide quality school-based mental health care and intervention for students.
The Department are looking to recruit psychologists to fill vacant permanent positions at the following schools:
Browns Plains State High School - 0.90 FTE;
Surfers Paradise SS - 0.40 FTE
About the Role
These roles are permanent part-time positions with South East Region - Wellbeing Workforce.
The successful applicants will relieve at level at one of the schools mentioned above.
Please note, permanency is to Region and relieving arrangements are subject to change (though this is rare).
Available schools subject to change - additional schools may also become available.
School positions to be confirmed at interview.
The wellbeing Workforce psychologists work within the school environment and with the school team, under the leadership and guidance of regional office based clinical supervisors, to maximise the optimum care for students.
The Wellbeing Workforce in the South East Region is a growing team passionate about helping students from Prep to Year 12 with their mental health needs.
We work with students to connect, engage and support them to maximise their education outcomes.
Responsibilities
The Wellbeing Workforce psychologist will:
Undertake individual and group counselling and therapeutic interventions with students, parents and families to assist them in resolving personal or relationship concerns.
Provide advice on diagnoses provided by external professionals and monitor students' progress.
Administer specialised psycho-educational assessment of students with learning and/or adjustment difficulties including assessments of cognitive, academic, behavioural, emotional, social and adaptive functioning.
Coordinate or assist in the implementation of specific professional in-service training programs for teachers, parents, schools and other professionals, both within and outside the department, for example - Supporting students' mental health and wellbeing.
Identify needs and participate in the referral and planning of services for children, parents and families to community agencies such as health and welfare.
Support school communities in responding to critical incidents and emergencies as part of the school response team.
