Overview

Join to apply for the Psychologist role at Metro South Health. An exciting opportunity exists for a Psychologist to join the Child and Youth Mental Health Services team at Browns Plains Community Health Centre. You'll deliver evidence-based care to children, young people, and their families, while contributing to education, research, and service improvement in a multidisciplinary setting.

As a Psychologist in CYMHS, you'll provide essential, patient-centred mental health care for children, young people and families experiencing complex needs.

Responsibilities
  • Conducting detailed psychological assessments, therapeutic interventions, and discharge planning.
  • Delivering high-quality, evidence-based services within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Managing a caseload with effective time management and accurate documentation.
  • Providing education and supervision for students, assistants, and junior staff.
  • Participating in quality improvement initiatives and contributing to research projects.
  • Engaging with patients, families, and carers using strong communication and interpersonal skills.
About You
  • An APAC-accredited qualification in Psychology and eligibility for AHPRA registration.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver evidence-based assessment and interventions.
  • Strong communication skills to work collaboratively with families, carers, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proven ability to manage caseloads and balance clinical and non-clinical responsibilities.
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development and reflective practice.
  • Capacity to contribute to student training, clinical education, and service development.
