Allied Health at the Wesley is a consolidated and established service, bringing together our Allied Health teams into one clinical service (inpatient, ambulatory and outpatient) with a single management team. The integration has provided opportunities for innovation, efficiencies and growth in services and improved productivity.- Our team of allied health professionals assist patients through a variety of admitted programs and outpatient services to achieve the best possible outcomes in their rehabilitation and recovery. Our team includes Physiotherapists, Exercise Physiologists, Occupational Therapists, Psychologists, Speech Pathologists, Social Workers and Dietitians. We offer a wide variety of services including Women's and Men's Health, Outpatient, Rehabilitation and Persistent Pain.**Your role**:
- With strong communication and interpersonal skills, you'll network and integrate your services effectively with other hospital departments to jointly assess and improve our multi-disciplinary approach to patient-care. Through your expertise and strategic leadership, you'll work to develop, implement and maintain industry-leading, tailored Allied Health Services that are both patient-centred and outcome-focused.- As part of the Senior Management team, you'll be accountable for the operational leadership, management and performance of all Allied Health services, including operational planning, budget and labour management across multiple cost centres. A strong people-leader, you'll prioritise your team's professional development and well-being, coaching and mentoring to create a cohesive and collaborative culture focused on exceptional outcomes.- You'll be accountable for:
- Co-ordinating and providing leadership in the development of new initiatives of allied health functions and teams
- Maintain oversight of the relationships with tertiary education providers and other relevant bodies in the content, provision and assessment of clinical student placements;
- Encouraging and supporting allied health staff to participate in research within their specialty areas
- Accreditation and clinical compliance, ensuring adherence to appropriate scope of practice of all employed and visiting allied health practitioners;
- Developing, reviewing and reporting of clinical outcome indicators and framework for the provision of safe high-quality patient care with respect to allied health services.
- Ideally the successful applicant will have the following:
- Tertiary qualifications in an eligible Allied Health discipline / profession;
- Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Agency or equivalent;
- Demonstrated high level knowledge, expertise and skill in the management of allied health services;
- Ability to provide influential counsel in matter relating to allied health to stakeholders both within and outside of the discipline;
- Demonstrated high level leadership and management skills across multidisciplinary teams;
- High level written and verbal communication skills;
- Proven strategic and change management experience;
- Evidence of successful budget and financial management knowledge and skills.
