Internal Communications Specialist

The Internal Communications Specialist is responsible for the creation of engaging and informative content for use across internal communication channels. The role is also responsible for the optimisation of user experience and lifting and maintaining high levels of awareness of the implementation of the organisation's Strategic Plan 2021-26 among members and other internal stakeholders.

This will be achieved by designing and implementing an internal content strategy (incorporating strategic plan communications), creating, and curating innovative and optimised content, monitoring, tracking, and reporting on digital performance, and identifying new opportunities to initiate open, two-way conversations with members.

**Your Responsibilities**

Typical duties of this position will include, however, are not limited to the following:

- Copywriting, editing, and publishing diverse and engaging written or visual content across internal communication channels
- Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to collate content for use across platforms
- Undertaking change management tasks including stakeholder engagement
- Collaborating with members of the Program Management Office (PMO) to identify, schedule, draft and issue required communications
- Moderating user-generated content and recommending actions/next steps
- Tracking and analysing data to gain insight on traffic and effectiveness, and using this information to report and positively affect future outcomes
- Being the digital media champion - helping grow internal knowledge and expertise. Monitoring trends and playing a pivotal advisory role
- Participating in all team meetings of the organisation and supporting the activities of the organisation and its related entities including representation at events and Marketing and Fundraising activities as a team member
- Working collaboratively across the organisation and its related entities as needed
- Adhering to the organisation's policies and procedures and complying with, reporting on, and actively participating in the organisation's WH&S Procedures

**Selection Criteria - Essential**:

- A minimum of two years' experience in internal or change communications
- Qualifications in Communications, Marketing, or equivalent experience
- Extensive hands-on experience with digital content creation and vendor management
- Advanced strategic copywriting skills
- Experience working with a diverse range of stakeholder demographics
- Tech-savvy and deep knowledge of user experience and hands-on experience transforming user engagement
- Demonstrated ability to assess and manage high volume workflow, including the need to identify and escalate issues
- Experience in collaborating in a small team, specifically demonstrating initiative & prioritisation to resolve issues

**Selection Criteria - Desirable**:

- Previous experience with WordPress (or other web platforms), Dynamics 365 and graphic design platforms
- Passionate about helping people
- Analytical, problem solver
- Prior service in the Australian Defence Force (ADF) or an ex-service organisation
