Work **32 hours a week (MON-THU) **with a **local council **as a **Accounts Payable Officer**, located in the **Cheltenham area in the South-Eastern Suburbs of Melbourne**.

**Pay rate**: $33.79 per hour, working 32 hours a week Monday to Thursday as a Casual.

**About Our Client and Role**

We have Local Council client located in South Eastern Suburbs of Melbourne whom require an Accounts Assistant to provide quality, timely, accurate, efficient and effective accounts receivable and payable support to their community sustainability division.

The council's Community Sustainability Division provides community care, case management and care packages for people who are older, have a disability and/or other complex care needs, their carers or those who are (or are at risk of becoming) homeless.

The roles major focus is accounts payable and receivable processing, handling account queries from clients, service providers and staff. In addition, the role is responsible for a range of general administration tasks.

**Your primary responsibilities will include**:

- Processing creditor invoices
- Reconcile creditor accounts against monthly statements
- Process sundry and trust refunds
- Handle Cash
- General ledger allocations
- Accounts receivable processing
- Update relevant masterfiles
- Provide excellent customer service
- Provide excellent customer service
- Ensure compliance with GST legislation

**The Successful Applicant will have**:

- Demonstrated experience in a accounts payable/receivable function in a large organisation
- Ability to self-manage workloads
- Be a team player
- Good working knowledge of GST in relation to Accounts Payable
- Demonstrated commitment to customer focused quality service
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Able to obtain a valid Police Check upon successful placement
- **NO COVID vaccination status **is required to be provided for this position.
