The National Gallery of Victoria (NGV) is seeking a Curatorial Project Officer who will be responsible for a range of administrative duties that support Australian and First Nations Art exhibitions and displays, major projects and the development and management of the NGV Collection.
ABOUT THE POSITION:
You will provide high quality curatorial administration support including developing and maintaining project schedules and budgets, preparing proposals, reports and correspondence. Other key responsibilities include:
- Assisting the Senior Curator with the research, development and implementation of displays and exhibitions, and providing administration and project support for major projects.
- Contributing to the safekeeping, maintenance and development of the Collection, including undertaking cataloguing duties, preparing proposals and reports and accurately following processes relating to acquisitions and donations and related administration.
- Researching, collating and drafting content and interpretation for use in publications, marketing materials, resources, exhibitions and programs in consultation with the Senior Curator.
- Researching, preparing, and delivering or assisting with programs and events related to the Collection and exhibitions as required, in consultation with relevant staff.
- Ensuring the maintenance and collation of verbal, written and statistical records and assisting with reports and proposals.
To be successful, you will have demonstrated knowledge Australian Art, including First Nations art, cultures or histories. You have a tertiary qualification in a related field, coupled with direct or transferrable experience in administration and project management (i.e. exhibitions, collections or events), publishing or research within a related setting desirable.
