Curatorial Assistant

We are seeking a skilled Curatorial Assistant to provide administrative support for Australian and First Nations Art exhibitions, projects, and the development of our collection.
This is a fixed term role for 2 years. You will be working full-time in this position.
The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the Senior Curator with research, implementation, and administration for displays and exhibitions, major projects, and the safekeeping of the collection. This includes undertaking cataloguing duties, preparing proposals and reports, and accurately following processes related to acquisitions and donations.
You will also be responsible for researching, collating, and drafting content for publications, marketing materials, resources, exhibitions, and programs in consultation with the Senior Curator. Additionally, you will assist with programs and events related to the collection and exhibitions as required.
To be successful in this role, you will have knowledge of Australian Art, including First Nations art, cultures or histories. A tertiary qualification in a related field, coupled with experience in administration, project management, publishing, or research within a related setting, is highly desirable.
This position is open only to applicants who identify as being of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent.
