The Sprint Master is a key member of the IT Agile Development team, responsible for facilitating and improving the Sprint process and ensuring the team follows Agile principles. The ISG IT Sprint process is a tailored process designed to meet the requirements of IT development, ISG core values and is integrated with the ISG IT Agile Ways of Working. ISG IT implements a Sprint/Kanban hybrid approach to delivering products. The Sprint Master will serve as a coach, mentor, and facilitator of the Sprint Process and the ISG IT Agile Ways of Working whilst helping the ream achieve its goals and delivery high-quality products on time.
Key Responsibilities
Sprint Facilitation:
- Lead and facilitate Sprint ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint review and sprint retrospective. Ceremonies are expected to be tailored ad selected based on the complexity and risks associated with the sprint.
- Ensure the team understands and follows the ISG IT Agile Ways of Working principles, values, and best practices.
- Remove impediments or roadblocks that hinder the team's progress.
- Foster a collaborative and self-organising team environment.
- Encourage and promote a culture of continuous improvement within the team.
Communication and Collaboration:
- Act as a liaison between the development team and product/portfolio owners and business Project Managers, ensuring clear communication and transparency.
- Collaborate with Product Owners to refine and prioritise the product backlog.
- Collaborate with the Agile Demand Manager to support an accurate and up to date capacity plan for ISG IT.
- Interacting with Solution & Enterprise Architects, to ensure business requirements are translated effectively into actionable technical solution architectures.
- Assist in the resolution of conflicts, capacity issues and promote a positive team dynamic.
- Track and report on team progress and performance using Agile metrics.
Continuous Learning:
- Encourage and support the team's professional growth and development.
- Encourage and support the use of Agile tools and methods.
Skills & Experience
- A history of success leading Sprint/Kanban to deliver products to quality and on time.
- Leadership - Experience in leadership and servant-leader mentality.
- A strong, evidenced ability to conduct problem-solving and critical thinking.
- An ability to remain adaptable and flexible in an ever changing environment.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Empathy and a commitment to team success.
- Experience in deploying and establishing Agile methods within IT.
- Clear understanding of product management (Agile Methodologies).
- Understanding of IT Product and IT systems/service life cycle concepts.
- Excellent understanding of the organization's goals and objectives.
- Knowledge of Agile development tools (ServiceNow, DevOps, JIRA, Trello)
Qualifications:
- College diploma or university degree in the field of business administration, computer science, finance, or information systems and sufficient related work experience;or equivalent industry experience in an IT Scrum Master/Sprint Master role;
- Experience in IT solution development, servant leadership, coaching and facilitation
- Certified Scrum Master desirable
