Overview of the role
The Australia and New Zealand Tax Manager will ensure regional compliance with domestic and international legislation, update company policies and procedures, and act as a business partner for all tax-related matters. The role will streamline tax processes and deliverables, recommend and implement tax policies and strategies, support the global tax team for ofi and related projects, and report to the Chief Financial Officer & Country Head and the Global Head of Tax.
Key Responsibilities
Lodgment and review of company tax returns with accurate and timely reports for all tax forms and reporting
Ensure compliance with domestic and international regulations by monitoring and maintaining tax procedures for Australia and New Zealand
Monitor legislative and regulatory tax developments to ensure compliance; manage relationships with internal finance contacts and external service providers
Ensure the business remains compliant with IFRS and tax accounting rules
Manage daily tax and finance operations, assist management in managing the effective tax rate, handle transfer pricing adjustments, implement tax compliance controls, and participate in tax assessments and audits with external tax agencies and authorities
Prepare ITR, Country-by-Country reporting, IDS, tax provisions and disclosures, and tax schedules for corporate and statutory reporting
Complete ad-hoc tax projects (e.g., Fringe Benefits return, ESS reporting, BAS) and provide technical tax advice on transactions
Responsible for Australia and New Zealand transfer pricing and support for the wider APAC region
Provide support to the wider global tax team as appropriate
Qualification & other requirements
Minimum five (5) years of experience with professional knowledge in taxation and finance; strong leadership skills
Ability to work effectively in a high-functioning finance team and to communicate and analyze data proficiently
Degree in Commerce, Accounting, or a related field; CA/CPA qualification preferred
