Senior Health Economist - Vaccine Portfolio Strategy

We are seeking a seasoned health economist to lead our vaccine portfolio strategy in Australia and New Zealand. This is a high-impact role that requires expertise in health economics, strategic thinking, and effective communication.

Your primary responsibility will be to design and deliver localized health economics evidence plans that influence pricing, reimbursement, and access decisions. You will work closely with internal stakeholders to translate complex data into tailored value narratives and communicate effectively across various audiences.

This is a rare opportunity to own affiliate-level health economics execution while contributing to the evolution of global strategy. You will have a dotted line to the Executive Director of Global Health Economics for Infectious Disease.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the end-to-end planning and execution of local health economics strategies and evidence generation tailored to Australia and New Zealand.
  • Adapt global cost-effectiveness, budget impact, and public health economic models to support HTA submissions.
  • Oversee the development of comprehensive reimbursement dossiers and materials submitted to ATAGI, PBAC, and PHARMAC.
  • Represent health economics in early scientific engagement and formal assessment processes to shape pricing and recommendation strategies.
  • Manage external vendors to ensure timely, compliant, and high-quality deliverables aligned with local and global expectations.

Requirements:

  • Masters degree in health economics, epidemiology, public health, pharmacy, or a related scientific field.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in the pharmaceutical, biotech, or vaccines industry.
  • Hands-on experience with Australian HTA submissions (e.g., PBAC, ATAGI).
  • Deep knowledge of Australia and New Zealand healthcare and reimbursement systems, including distinctions between PHARMAC and PBAC.
  • Familiarity with NITAG/HTA decision-making processes (ATAGI, PBAC, PHARMAC).
