Position Overview
The Senior Manufacturing Engineer will report to the Manufacturing Engineering Team Leader and is an essential role for a mechanically inclined engineer dedicated to enhancing assembly processes in a high-precision environment.
The successful candidate will be instrumental in optimizing workflows, facilitating new product introductions, and executing process improvements that drive cost efficiency and product reliability.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and optimize mechanical assembly processes for complex CNC machines and subassemblies.
Troubleshoot production issues and implement rapid problem resolution strategies.
Maintain and enhance standard operating procedures, assembly instructions, and production documentation.
Collaborate on assembly line layout and workstation design improvements to enhance efficiency and ergonomics.
Coordinate with Design Engineering to ensure new products are manufacturable and assembly-ready.
Lead continuous improvement projects targeting cost reduction, defect reduction, and productivity enhancements.
Conduct time studies and line balancing to optimize assembly flow and efficiency.
Implement Lean Manufacturing practices to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
Promote health, safety, and environmental compliance within assembly operations.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in engineering principles, coupled with a proactive approach to problem-solving and a genuine interest in leadership development.
Candidates should be ready to take on challenges in a fast-paced environment.
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in an engineering role, demonstrating process improvement and technical leadership.
Registered as a Professional Engineer in Victoria.
Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., NX, AutoCAD) and ERP systems.
Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, including assembly, machining, and automation.
