**Role Description**
This role is an APS5 position within a veteran-focused government department as part of the Mental Health and Research Translation team. This role provides a unique chance for individuals interested in supporting and making a positive impact in the veteran community.
The Administration Officer will need to establish record keeping and tracking data of Requests For Information to ensure all responses are timely.
The applicant will be expected to promptly establish relationships within Navy and Defence People Group and the Task Force to ensure open and clear communication lines on timelines and RFI requirements.
The Commission Taskforce staff will be required to operate in a complex and dynamic environment with sensitive and potentially confronting material.
- The APS5 Administration Office is accountable under supervised direction to perform and achieve administration and information processing work within an integrated workforce.
- They are accountable to have and maintain an understanding of and compliance to relevant policy guidance, privacy principals and associated frameworks influencing their output.
- An APS5 Administration Officer will be accountable for organising their workflow and making guided decisions relating to their area of responsibility.
- They will provide advice within the Admin Officer function based on legislation, policy and procedures. They will undertake various research tasking and perform procedural or clerical support work to achieve results.
- The APS5 Administration Officer will contribute to the work of a team consistent to a work plan and provide advice and assistance on methods of task completion to team members.
- The APS5 Administration Officer will be required to engage and communicate with stakeholders to identify, respond and provide advice on issues to achieve work unit and Defence outcomes. They will be accountable to contribute towards ongoing self-improvement and professional development.
- Familiarity of Defence Veterans environment
- Ability to work respectfully with a blended workforce (Military, civilian and contracted workforce)
- Develop and maintain positive, robust stakeholder communication skills
- Ability to conduct meetings online and in person
- Proactive approach to problem solving
- Security clearance - Current Baseline
- Good understanding of record management
