We are seeking experienced and motivated Leading Hand Heavy Duty Mechanics / Fitters to join our dynamic and innovative team, where the 'way we work' is just as important as the expertise we demonstrate every day.
These roles require proactive leaders with a solution-focused approach, strong technical expertise in modern mining fleets, and a "can-do" attitude to play a critical role in supervising and supporting maintenance teams to ensure fleet reliability, safety, and efficiency, whilst fostering a positive and inclusive team culture.We have a 15 days and nights, 13 off Fly-In Fly-Out roster on offer from Perth to Leonora (or Drive-in Drive-Out from regional centres), the choice is yours
Key Responsibilities include: Preventative maintenance, fault diagnosis, and unplanned repairs on Hitachi, Komatsu, and Caterpillar mining equipmentProvide technical expertise in hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems for mining equipmentWork closely with maintenance supervisors to coordinate scheduled maintenance and repair activitiesEnsure all work is carried out safely, efficiently, and in compliance with OEM standards and GMS work management procedure and regulatory mining regulationsFoster a safety-first culture by promoting best practiceSupport continuous improvement initiatives to enhance maintenance efficiency and equipment reliability.About youCollaboration is key
You will be a natural leader who can inspire and motivate your team, with the ability to make informed decisions under pressure to resolve day to day challenges.
You will also have the following: Trade Qualification in Heavy Duty Mechanics, Diesel Fitting, or Mechanical FittingExtensive experience working on Hitachi excavators (EX2000, EX2600, EX1200), Komatsu HD1500 haul trucks, and Caterpillar ancillary equipment.Demonstrated experience leading or mentoring a maintenance teamProven ability to troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems in a mining environmentAbility to work flexibly in a team-oriented environment and adapt to changing priorities.Understanding of WA Mines Safety and Inspection Act & Regulations and commitment to high safety standardsAdditional qualifications such as Working at Heights, Confined Space, Forklift, EWP, Rigging & Dogging tickets will be highly regardedWhy Join Us?
