**About the role**

As the **HSE (Health, Safety, & Environment) Reporting and Systems Analyst**, you are integral to the success of V/Line's **People, Risk, Safety & Sustainability Group.**

The **People, Risk, Safety & Sustainability (PRSS) Group** is responsible for V/Line's corporate systems and processes that enable the business to deliver passenger and freight services while meeting its legislative obligations, community expectation, and employee safety and wellbeing.

The Group supports V/Line to manage critical risks and has a continuous improvement approach to reducing risk on our rail network, in our organisation and within the environment. This includes guiding V/Line to deliver internal audit, and assurance programs and manages relationship with external regulatory bodies.

The role is responsible for internal and some external scheduled reporting, as well as ad hoc requests for critical information

As well as performing duties specified in this position description an employee may be required to undertake other duties or functions consistent with their classification, capabilities, and skills.

**Key accountabilities include**:

- Support the administration of the Integrated Risk Management System (IRMS) in support of the Head of Risk improvement and Head of Risk
- Work with the Risk team and other business areas to deliver relevant reports from IRMS
- Develop business improvement initiatives once IRMS has been delivered and imbedded.
- Oversee and compile where required the HSE reports to support daily, weekly and monthly requirements
- Review, analyse, improve and assist with maintenance of the V/Line Incident Reporting System
- Coordinate with key stakeholders and SMEs to assist with flow of information between business units
- Proactively develop, generate and distribute necessary reports to ensure appropriate metrics are being monitored and presented to SLT (Senior Leadership Team), to enable
- informed risk-based decisions.
- Design, implementation and maintenance of data repository and visualisation platforms
- Assist with programs across V/Line that require HSE data to make risk-based decisions
- Assist other areas of People, Risk, Safety and Sustainability Group to improve processes and data usage.
- Management of data to ensure confidential information remains privileged.

**About you**

The **HSE (Health, Safety, & Environment) Reporting and Systems Analyst** will report directly to the **Manager, Incident Insights and Analytics**, where you will provide in depth analysis of all Health, Safety, Risk and Environment information and data.
- Relevant experience of business analysis, data management, statistical modelling
- Intermediate/Advanced Microsoft Excel and Power BI skills
- Strong scripting and programming skills (e.g. SQL, DAX, Python or R)
- Effective relationship management and problem-solving ability with senior business stakeholders
- Knowledge of V/Line's processes and procedures are desirable
- Tertiary qualifications or experience in relevant fields - Rail, Safety, Environment, Engineering are desirable
- Understanding of the Rail Industry
- Ability to identify, verify, analyse, control and improve data from multiple sources
- Ability to provide insights and analysis from data and information within complex
- Ability to collaborate with stakeholders to ensure consistent and timely reporting in
- Ability to promote and foster a positive and collaborative culture
