Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Solution Designer to design and implement infrastructure solutions that meet business needs across cloud and on-premises technologies.
Your Responsibilities
Identify requirements and develop quality solution designs to meet infrastructure, business, and resourcing needs
Coordinate with Infrastructure delivery leads and technical SMEs to implement, support, and troubleshoot solution delivery
Communicate with project management for timeline and governance aspects of delivery
Liaise with network architects and SMEs to provide networking requirements and alignment of designs to network topology
Provide technical direction to projects and initiative stakeholders where guidance and input are required
Work with Hosting Engineering to uplift capability within Infrastructure across both people and technology
Required Skills and Qualifications
Demonstrated experience in infrastructure solution design, covering Operating Systems, Storage, Virtualisation, Networking, Firewalls, and security practices
Familiarity with supporting services such as Kubernetes, Databases, AD, and common application platforms
Functional familiarity with Cloud platforms, ideally AWS with services such as EC2, EKS, RDS, IAM, and security groups
Demonstrate technical design processes – requirements gathering, generating design documentation, and implementation planning
A security-first mindset, with a willingness to identify and report risks, as well as plan mitigation and resolution approaches
Background in supporting project planning, delivery, and execution and familiarity with resource estimation
Practice in technical leadership, with empathy towards others and a willingness to understand a diversity of goals
