Deliver high performance standards around all aspects of ramp handling, meeting the requirements of our customers and maintaining health and safety and overall good working practices in accordance to company policies and procedures at all times.

The primary function of the role is to provide leadership, direction and operational support to ensure safe, efficient and effective Ramp operations at Sydney International Airport. The delivery will be consistent with the expectations of all regulatory bodies and customer airlines' expectations/SLA's, whilst also ensuring adherence to company objectives, policies and procedures.
- Provide leadership, direction and operational support to all staff involved in the delivery of ground handling services, to ensure effective daily operational performance whilst adhering to all safety, security and customer requirements.
- Regular and ongoing operational, safety and financial reporting, to ensure compliance and continual improvement. This will include safety audits through SMART and incident reporting through MORSE.
- Maximise service delivery while constantly managing costs to maximise profitability.
- Planning and implementation of manpower requirements and ongoing cross-skilling/training needs.
- Ongoing monitoring of staff performance and attendance, coordinating and conducting probationary performance appraisals.
- Ensure all safety related incidents are reported and resolved in a timely manner, including liaising with Operations Manager with regards to disciplinary and corrective actions where necessary.
- Building strong airline customer relationships by ensuring that SLA's and standards are maintained and raised by continual improvement.
- Establish and maintain strong working relationships through professional and efficient written and verbal communication with all internal and external stakeholders, customers, colleagues and airport authorities.
- Work with Return To Work Coordinator to ensure suitable duties are adhered to.
- Additional duties or projects as delegated by the Ramp Services Operations Manager and Ramp Services Manager.
- Responsible for team of baggage masters that will report directly to you.

**Safety, Security and Compliance**

The majority of risks can most effectively be identified, controlled and managed at operational level. It is therefore essential that the Station and Operational Business Unit Managers assume the role of Coordinator of Health and Safety and ensure the following:

- Responsible for local adherence, day-to-day administration, operation and implementation of the SMS
- Managers under their control understand and put into effect the company health and safety policy.
- Unit Management are fully aware of their safety duties and are acquainted with the types of hazards that may be encountered in the working environment.
- With support from the Regional Health and Safety Manager and General Manager, appoint sufficient numbers of Safety Officers and assess their performance in compliance with the company health and safety policies and best practice.
- They assist managers in the effective resolution of any health and safety problems that may be referred to them, and bring to the attention of higher authority at once such matters that cannot be achieved at their own level.
- Stimulate and maintain interest in health and safety matters throughout area of responsibility and ensure that managers understand that health and safety management should be given foremost priority against any other management function.
- Support the Regional Health and Safety Manager with all the necessary commitment required to ensure corporate health and safety aims are achieved.
- Produce reports and provide information to the Regional Health and Safety Manager as and when required.
- Understand the company health and safety policies and ensure these are implemented within the unit with the same diligence and priority as any other management function.
- Employees under their control receive adequate training, information, instruction and supervision to enable them to conduct their work activities safely and are encouraged to work safely at all times.
- Employees under their control understand and put into effect their own responsibilities and duties detailed in the company health and safety policy.
- Employees know the location of appointed persons to take charge of first aid, first aider's, first aid facilities and fire procedures in case of emergency.
