Your Opportunity
As a Clinical Facilitator, Nursing (Higher Education), you wil be engaged in current nursing practice to facilitate student learning and development of knowledge skills in a clinical simulation environment, ensuring all aspects of student training, supervision and assessment are met.
You are expected to contribute to the teaching effort of the organisation and to carry out activities to develop scholarly, research and professional activities relevant to the profession or discipline.
This position reports to the Operations Manager Bachelor of Nursing.
Multiple casual on going opportunities available.
The position will be based primarily at Southport however you may be required to perform work at other TAFE Queensland campuses.
Key Responsibilities
Academic Leadership
Make an academic and professional contribution to the teaching program and service delivery of the discipline including integration of theory with practice and achievement of expected outcomes.
Effectively participate as a member of the discipline and broader discipline faculty teaching teams.
Ensuring sound knowledge of the National Competency Standards for a Registered Nurse and facilitating student development and understanding of these competencies in practice.
Actively collaborate with other tertiary providers and teachers to develop robust and evidence-based processes, protocols and evaluation to support excellence in teaching.
Clinical Performance and Leadership
Supervise directly and indirectly student's clinical practice and provide a range of work, training and assessment opportunities.
Respond professionally to immediate concerns and student issues if unforeseen problems arise during the clinical experience.
Orientate students to the nursing simulation facility and, conduct student pre-briefing and de-briefing sessions.
Promoting the safety of both staff and students through the selection and negotiation of a contemporary learning practice.
Demonstrated ability to provide advanced clinical leadership and supervise clinical duties of students.
Demonstrated ability to provide a mentoring role for students.
Undertake broad administration activities related to areas of clinical nursing facilitation.
Professional Leadership and Engagement
Develop active links with professional associations and accreditation bodies.
Engage and collaborate with industry.
Contribute to broader faculty activities including planning and committee work.
Research and Scholarship
Undertake research in the discipline, if indicated.
Collect data for formulative and summative evaluation of simulation experiences.
Other
Undertake other duties commensurate with the scope of the position as required by the Director of Faculty.
Contribute to the success of transformation and cultural change through promoting and modelling the established values of Safety First, Working Together, Focussing on our Customer, Taking Responsibility and Showing Initiative.
Live a safety culture, lead by example and support the Health Safety and Environment Management System to create a TAFE Queensland Brisbane-wide safety culture.

The ideal applicant will be someone who has the following key capabilities:
High level ability to consult, negoatiate and respond professionally to resolve issues in a nursing simulation environment.
Demonstrated knowledge and skills to deliver, mentor, develop and evaluate the clinical performance of students.
The ability to provide high quality course delivery within an applied learning environment, in accordance with Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA) standards, with a demonstrated commitment to providing outstanding client service.
Superior written and oral communication, influencing and listening skills.
Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to build and sustain productive internal and external stakeholder relationships with people from a diverse range of backgrounds.
Mandatory Qualifications/Requirements
Bachelor Degree in Nursing;
Post Graduate qualification in a related area;
