IT SUPERVISOR
FULL TIME
ABOUT THE ROLE:
The Cairns Convention Centre is seeking a proactive IT professional to join as an IT Supervisor.
Reporting to the Corporate Services Director and working closely with the Audio-Visual department, your responsibilities will include:
Providing IT support for staff and events.
Managing all IT hardware and software for the Centre, covering corporate and event needs.
Maintaining security measures such as firewalls, virus protection, and access controls, and managing data backup and disaster recovery processes.
Ensuring all licensing requirements are current and relevant.
Assisting management in determining future IT directions to maintain a world-class facility.
Handling budgeting, financial management, and reporting.
Developing and maintaining documentation for managing servers and systems.
Creating and maintaining business and resilience plans related to IT systems and equipment.
The role is primarily during office hours, but support outside of hours for events or systems may be required.

You will have:
Experience in a similar IT role
A desire to provide excellent customer service
Highly regarded qualifications in information technology or related fields
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Ability to use initiative, make decisions, and meet deadlines
Knowledge and experience with:
Technical infrastructure including servers, desktops, firewalls, DHCP, VLAN, VRF, LAN & WAN principles
Microsoft 365 Hybrid Environment, Azure, Exchange (Online & On-premise), Endpoint Manager
Microsoft Server Platforms – Active Directory, DNS, ADFS, DFS, GPOs
Supporting Microsoft 365, Windows Server & Desktop Technologies, Cloud Environments
Networking equipment such as routers, switches, wireless access points in a Cisco environment
Printer management
HyperV Virtualization Platforms
IT hardware rollouts
