
Despatch Manager, 12 Month Contract

We are currently recruiting for a Despatch Manager for our Distribution Centre in Dandenong South on a 12 month maximum term contract. In this role, you will be reporting to the DC manager and be responsible for overseeing the daily despatch operations in compliance with L'Oreal standards as well as coordinating the despatch team.
ABOUT THE JOB
- Overseeing despatch operations
- Work closely with Operations & Customer Service team to ensure targets are communicated, delivered and improved upon
- Tracking the loading of trucks to ensure booked deliveries are achieved
- Tracking shipments in transit and proactively addressing any delays or issues.
- Build strong relationships with the Carriers.
- Training and developing new/existing employees
- Fostering a positive and productive work environment, promoting teamwork and adherence to safety protocols.
- Implementing and enforcing quality control procedures to ensure that goods are dispatched without damage or errors.
- Identifying opportunities for cost savings without compromising service quality.
ABOUT YOU
- Prior despatch and/or logistics experience
- Strong leadership skills and ability to relate to people at all levels
- Self driven, proactive with a can do attitude and problem solving skills
- Ability to prioritise, multi task in a fast-paced environment and a high attention to detail
- Proven ability to engage, motivate and lead teams
- Strong knowledge of warehousing processes and operations
- Supervising a team including workflow allocation and training of staff.
- Flexible and adaptable, able to adapt to continuous and rapid changes in business requirements or activity.
- A passion for managing team dynamics with solid planning and organisational skills
- Commitment to Safety, OH&S policies and procedures
