**Job Description**:
Are you a whiz in the kitchen? Would you love to spend your working days within a kitchen while you earn and learn?

Apprenticeships Queensland along with our host are looking for a Commercial Cookery Apprentice to work alongside

In this role, you will work through your traineeship combining 'off the job' training at TAFE and participate in a wide range of roles on site at the commercial kitchen. You will learn general food preparation and learn about maintaining high standards of cleanliness, food handling and hygiene practices within the kitchen at all times, in addition to ensuring a proactive safety-first approach.

Your Duties Will Include:

- A la carte menu cooking
- Meal preparation including functions and desserts
- Stock rotation
- Produce quality dishes in a timely manner
- Work as part of a team in a busy kitchen
- Knife handling
- Cleaning tasks including wiping benches and washing floors

About You:

- A passion and creativity towards food
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work under time constraints
- Positive and proactive attitude
- Strong communication skills
- Can work independently and within a team environment
- Showcase initiative and take responsibility

Role Requirements:

- Ability to work across a 7-day week
- Ability to work multiple shifts including morning and night
- Certificate II in Kitchen Operations or similar (preferred but not essential)
