**National Trust of Australia Queensland (NTAQ)** is a membership-based community organisation and registered charity that works to conserve and advance our natural and cultural heritage for everyone, forever.
This role as Head of Operation NTAQ will focus on our Brisbane and regional properties state-wide, but excludes NTAQ Gold Coast properties.
NTAQ is investing in advancing our operations across the State and this newly created role will lead this expansion. We are seeking an inspirational Head of Operations to embrace and drive our focus on delivering sustainable tourism and to grow the success of National Trust properties throughout the state.
**Position details & duties**
This executive level role will report directly to the CEO of National Trust of Australia (Queensland) NTAQ and will be a member of the NTAQ State-wide Executive Committee.
- This role will head up the NTAQ Heritage division and manage the effective growth, performance, profitability and activities of NTAQ Heritage Services and NTAQ property teams throughout Queensland (excluding the Gold Coast properties of Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary and Wildlife Hospital ). The NTAQ Operations portfolio currently consists of Heritage properties/sites located at Brisbane City, Wacol, Brookside, Toowoomba and Drayton, Maryborough. Townsville, Charters Towers, Atherton and Cooktown.
- The role will hold responsibility for facilitating continuous improvement for the portfolio in terms of brand, reputation and stakeholder engagement, plus meet the challenges of portfolio growth, contributing to the overall success of NTAQ by achievement of our strategic objectives.
- Areas of immediate future growth for this portfolio will be the development and management of new environmental and tourism projects.
- This is a leadership role managing and supporting a team of direct reports from across the portfolio sectors to be the best they can be.
- The core 4 elements of the role are considered to be:
- Management of NTAQ Operations portfolio including future expansion
- Development of NTAQ visitor experiences and NTAQ heritage and environmental services
- Portfolio Communication and compliance
- Project Development responsibilities
- This is a full-time salaried position based in Brisbane CBD. Travel is required to NTAQ Head Office at Currumbin on the Gold Coast and to regional properties, with occasional State-wide travel.
- Hours of work: 5 days per week Monday to Friday with occasional weekend shifts based on business needs. Flexible availability is required to travel and attend events and meetings.

**Selection Criteria**:
- Will have previously managed or held a senior role across multiple business units with experience in a Tourism related business, environmental services or heritage venues highly desirable.
- Not-for-profit experience would be advantageous.
- Has demonstrated skills to deliver NTAQ strategic priorities; will require track record of innovation and successful implementation of new business products.
- Has necessary technological capability to implement processes to optimize outcomes for all reporting business units.
- Will have an interest in Queensland history, tourism and environment, and be prepared to represent NTAQ to engage partners with our causes, services and special places.
- Leadership style must be professional, productive and supportive, with genuine alignment to the company value set, i.e. The Wings of Success program: Welcoming, Efficiency, Safety and Fun.
- High level skills required in the areas of financial literacy and reporting, project management, work organization, communication, leadership and budgeting.
- Must be a highly capable user of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint and be systems savvy to oversee rostering, purchase orders and POS systems. Can prepare and present reports, audits and incident reports and demonstrate strong attention to detail.
- Must be self-motived with ability to work autonomously but also collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders including volunteers.
- Appropriate health and fitness to perform the elements of the role including distance driving. Must hold current driver's licence and have access to reliable vehicle.
- Must be committed to ensuring WHS are met; ensuring safe workplace operations and ensure all teams meet compliance requirements to relevant workplace legislation and company policies.
