The historic landmark, previously known as Wolston House, is situated in a rural setting dating back to 1852, located a short drive Northwest of the CBD. Wolston Farmhouse was the first property to be taken care of by the National Trust of Australia (Queensland) & is The Centre of Excellence for School Excursion Programs, and a physical embodiment of everything the NTAQ represents**:to protect, conserve, and celebrate the Environmental, Built and Cultural heritage of our State**.
As we work to develop our education charter and continue to develop the site as a learning playground for future generations, we are seeking a motivated and passionate **Education Officer** to ensure a valuable visitor and student experience to support and deliver a variety of resources and programs.

**About the Role**
As our highly organised Education Officer you will deliver activities which are both informative and fun and to create a memorable experience for both students and teachers. As a collaborative people manager, you will guide and support the volunteers to deliver a knowledgeable and valuable experience - with a focus on developing our excursion market to provide a valuable heritage learning experience.
Supported by NTAQ Heritage Corporate Services Teams and reporting to the Wolston Farmhouse Heritage Site Coordinator, you will deliver educational programs and host school site visits. This role will have the immediate focus on delivering an engaging and interactive way, which showcase Conservation, Queensland indigenous culture and colonial history or heritage. As a highly autonomous individual, and confident public speaker, you will actively engage with Education groups in a friendly and helpful manner to deliver efficient and friendly service and through storytelling of our conservation and environmental endeavours.
**About You**
To be successful in this role, you will have experience in and/or the education sector with the ability to communicate with a diverse range of stakeholders. Other key skills and qualifications we are looking for include:
- Ability and experience in delivering engaging education programs for school students of different ages and backgrounds.
- Knowledge of History in the Australian Curriculum.
- Ability to deliver an education program in a location with mínimal supervision, including and liaising with other National Trust staff.
- Must be self-directed with excellent time management and ability to work calmly under pressure.
- Physical ability to walk distances, carry loads up to 10kg and to perform all requirements of this role.
- Current 'Working with children Blue Card' or equivalent.
- An interest in local history of the area & background in education is desirable
- Own transport is required as Wolston Farmhouse is not accessbile by public transport.
