What is the role?
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Financial Planning & Analysis Manager to join our Finance team at Lorna Jane's Brisbane Head Office.
In this key leadership role, you will drive strategic and financial decision-making through detailed planning, forecasting, and analysis. Your insights will ensure financial stability and support sustainable business growth, making a significant impact on our overall success.
What You'll be doing
**As our Finance Planning & Analysis Manager you'll**:
- Partner with business leaders to provide financial insights and support for key decisions
- Identify underperforming stores or products and recommend corrective actions
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPI's) to track progress against goals and highlight areas requiring attention
- Evaluate business cases for projects, new stores, products etc to ensure alignment with financial goals
- Prepare reports and dashboards for executives and stakeholders, translating complex financial data into clear, actionable insights
- Own and manage the planning, modelling and preparation of the annual budget & rolling forecasting
- Lead and develop the management reporting suite providing valuable insights into the business allowing informed decisions to be made by utilising systems skills & knowledge
- Understand financial trends and variances, providing succinct commentary regarding the financial performance and the associated business drivers.
- Collaborate with merchandise and supply chain teams to optimise inventory levels and reduce carrying costs
- Ensure proper tracking of cost of goods sold to optimise gross margins
- Monitor operating expenses, including store payroll, rent, marketing, utilities etc
- Seek opportunities to leverage and report on data-driven insights that improve business performance
- Create and maintain rolling forecasts to provide updated financial outlooks & stock levels
- Provide recommendations based on insights to improve profitability, reduce costs, & optimise operations
- Develop and maintain financial models and system reporting tools with a focus on continuous improvement
- Streamline financial planning and reporting processes by leveraging technology and automation
- Monitor key retail metrics such as like for like growth, foot traffic, conversion rates etc
- Collaborate with all Department Heads to gain a thorough understanding of how each department functions and what they contribute to the overall business.
Who We're Looking For
**We're seeking someone who has**:
- Tertiary qualifications in Business, Commerce, or a related field
- CA/CPA qualification essential
- Strong background in retail, with hands-on experience in financial planning and analysis
- Proficiency with NetSuite and/or BOARD systems highly regarded
- In-depth understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling
- Skilled at leveraging multiple systems to extract and present clear, actionable financial and non-financial data
- Proven experience in improving processes and meeting tight deadlines
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes within deadlines
- A collaborative approach with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships across teams
- Problem-solving mindset with the capacity to make sound, data-driven decisions
