**Position Overview**
The Sales Manager is responsible for targeting each marketplace and all aspects of field-based customer service including relationship development, problem solving, communication, territory management, and training and product demonstrations.
**Responsibilities**
- Actively selling and promoting machines, aftermarket parts and maintenance services.
- Develop new sales leads and service existing customers.
- Manage discount levels and strive to improve company margins.
- Establish sales forecasts and secure sales orders according to goals.
- Assist to control expenses within budget.
- Educate customers on products, service, warranties, and technical support.
- Ensure that customers have access to parts personnel, field service and other team members as necessary.
- Communicate and train dealers and customers on the features and benefits of equipment.
- As part of the senior leadership team, actively participate in leadership meetings.
- Assist with implementing Lean Transformation Plan action items.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
**Skills and Experience**
- Bachelor's degree in related field or appropriate combination of education and experience.
- 2 - 5 years of progressive, professional experience.
- Experience in commercial or industrial outside sales.
- Demonstrated ability to build strong business relationships.
- Basic understanding of equipment purchase financing.
- Professional level knowledge of principles and practices involved in new business development, product marketing and sales.
- Requires ability to initiate sales contacts and complete sales contracts.
- Time and territory management practices must be exceptional.
