**The role**
The house leader will play a critical role in leading a group of support workers and managing the day-to-day operations of the house. The role will see you working with support workers, team leaders and clients to ensure that service delivery standards are being met.
Additionally, you will be responsible for the following:
- Lead and develop an engaged and accountable team of support workers, including onboarding, mentoring, performance reviews, training, WHS and rostering to deliver personalised support and services
- Maintain regular, proactive engagement with support workers outside of simply shift management to assist in building strong engagement and relationships with workers
- Ensure that children and young people receive high quality culturally appropriate care by ensuring that their needs are identified and addressed
- Coordinate and contribute to the intake and assessment of children and young people
- Oversee the day-to-day operations including; ensuring that the physical environment is maintained to a high standard, ensure procedures are followed and take part in ensuring that a supportive environment is facilitated
- Support and communicate the implementation of WHS principles
- Attend on-call as required
**About you**
As the House Leader, you would have gained extensive exposure within child protection in your role as a youth support worker/house leader where you have taken part in the management and maintenance of staff and a residential facility. You are a strong people person and enjoy contributing to a high-performance and positive culture.

- Strong understanding of child protection, including a demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with individuals
- Strong administrative skills ensuring the accuracy of processes and documents
- Experience implementing initiatives i.e. meal plans, rosters and budgets
- A practical approach to problem-solving, decision-making and balancing priorities
