**Why Your Role Matters**:
The Research Officer is expected to contribute towards the research support effort of the Memory and Ageing Study 2 (MAS2) in Sydney.

The Research Officer will actively participate in the Centre for Healthy Brain Ageing (CHeBA) and will ensure adherence to the administering institution's ethics requirements and provide support and guidance on the administration of compliance and other related aspects of the research study. The Research Officer will play a key role in supporting the conduct of research in neuropsychological aspects of the NHMRC funded research project. The role will undertake cross comparison, validation, and performance of neuropsychological assessments in the evaluation of older adults with normal cognition, mild cognitive impairment, and dementia and will support the implementation and training in neuropsychological protocols and instruments.

The position will be responsible for data collection and analyses, training, and supervising research assistants, and conducting participant interviews, informant interviews, medical examinations and psychometric assessments with older study participants.

The Research Officer reports to the Chief Investigator and has no direct reports.

**Skills and Experience**:

- Honours 2.1 degree or higher research qualification in Psychology, Cognitive Science or related discipline, or an equivalent level of knowledge gained through a combination of education, training, or experience.
- Experience and knowledge of neuropsychological assessments. A qualification in neuropsychology will be an advantage.
- Proven commitment to proactively keeping up to date with discipline knowledge and developments, particularly in neuropsychology, mild cognitive impairment, dementia, and cognitive ageing.
- Knowledge of research protocols, experimental design and planning as involved in developing research projects and reporting against milestones.
- Demonstrated ability to provide high level research support including interviewing and performing medical assessments for older adults with and without cognitive impairments.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and productively within a team, but also to take initiative and work independently while managing competing demands.
- Demonstrated superior interpersonal communication skills to initiate and maintain effective stakeholder relationships whilst exercising discretion and confidentiality.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a high level of attention to detail and the ability to liaise effectively with a range of stakeholders.
- High level computer literacy skills and statistical knowledge, including demonstrated experience in setting up and managing large datasets and meticulous attention to detail.
- Demonstrated statistical skills including proficient use of software packages such as SPSS and R or equivalent statistical program and use of data software like MS Excel, REDCap.
- Current (full) Driver's Licence with willingness and ability to travel to sites within Sydney to conduct responsibilities and/or tasks.
- An understanding of and commitment to UNSW's aims, objectives and values in action, together with relevant policies and guidelines.
- Knowledge of health and safety responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant health and safety training.
