Immediately hiring a Permanent Full Time Senior Level Diesel Technician to support our Truck Fleet at Ryder in Cleveland, Ohio.

Responsibilities
Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties including standard and preventive maintenance
Diagnoses complex mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic tools when applicable
Completes complex and detailed mechanical inspections and repairs with minimal supervision
Replaces defective components as instructed and works unsupervised on most tasks
Performs facility maintenance duties and interacts with customers/drivers to determine the nature of the complaint
Utilizes Shop Management System and electronic documentation
Complies with all safety, DOT, MOT and corporate guidelines
Mentors Tech 1 and Tech 2 levels and accesses internal/external maintenance documents
Supports operations with other duties as required (Service Island, etc.)
Completed OEM online diagnostic tool courses as required by location fleet mix
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Vocational/Technical certification or post-secondary degree preferred
Basic tools required
Experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines including:
Routine preventative maintenance (oil changes, brake and tire work)
Basic diagnostics and repairs including AC and electrical systems
Three or more years of relevant work experience preferred
Valid CDL Class A preferred
All other location-specific certifications as required
Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience with mechanical repairs and diagnostics on heavy- and medium-duty equipment
Knowledge of PC/Windows-based applications
Must be able to obtain CDL within 6 months after hire
Pass Ryder drug test, DOT physical, road test, and background/motor vehicle checks for the last 3 years
Benefits & Perks
Hourly pay: $29.50 per hour
Certification bonus of $100 for each new ASE certification up to $700
Quarterly bonus: up to $500 per quarter
Schedule: Monday–Friday, weekends off
