About Us
True Planet Group is a vertically integrated leader in sustainable latex bedding spanning:
Peace Lily
( - primary e-commerce brand).
True Rubber
(latex collection & centrifuged latex manufacturing).
True Foam
(latex foam & finished mattress & bedding manufacturing).
RLS
certification (an industry redefining sustainability standard for latex).
Peace Lily, our retail mattress-in-a-box brand, currently operates in Australia, New Zealand, and the United States, and is backed by our own fully vertically integrated, farm-to-mattress manufacturing facilities in Sri Lanka. With two new factories now completed, we are entering a pivotal scale-up phase for both e-commerce and manufacturing.
The Role
We are seeking an accomplished
Chief Operating Officer (COO)
to oversee a small team in Melbourne and a larger team in Sri Lanka to manage overall global operations. This is a critical role, bridging our e-commerce retail operations in our international markets with our manufacturing base in Sri Lanka. The COO will take responsibility for overall operations and requires someone experienced with driving fast e-commerce growth. Although manufacturing experience is not required, you should be a highly organised and strong leader capable of partnering with our Vice President – Manufacturing in Sri Lanka to coordinate timelines for manufacturing departments to connect production with market demand.
Key Responsibilities
E-commerce Growth
: Drive revenue growth by working closely with the e-commerce and marketing team to scale out advertising channels and organic search with a focus on ROAS while maintaining brand alignment and with a customer-first approach.
End-to-End Operations Leadership
: Oversee the growth of e-commerce and B2B sales while ensuring all manufacturing operations (e.g. engineering, production, lab testing, latex collection, quality, R&D, ETP & boiler) run effectively and in alignment with global e-commerce and sales growth. Prior manufacturing experience is not essential, as primary success will come from driving e-commerce growth while maintaining strong leadership and coordination to ensure manufacturing expansion plans are executed on time and in line with our sustainability commitments.
Sustainability & Standards
: Drive compliance with global certification standards, which are relevant to the market, including our
Regenerative Latex Standard (RLS)
, while embedding sustainability throughout the organisation.
Facility Expansion
: Lead the strategic planning of the ramp-up of the two new factories and the existing factory to ensure smooth integration into existing operations.
Supply Chain & Logistics
: Overseeing effective sales forecasting and production forecasting, and ensuring all departments align on volumes to support seamless sales growth.
Retail Integration
: Partner with the retail team to ensure the customer demands and brand promises in Australia, New Zealand, and the US are fulfilled effectively by the Sri Lankan manufacturing arm.
Systems & Processes
: Strengthen ERP systems, data-driven reporting, and operational procedures to scale efficiently.
Leadership & Culture
: Manage and mentor a diverse management team across Manufacturing, Product Excellence, Corporate Operations, and Retail, building a culture of accountability and innovation.
About You
High attention to detail with an ability to find the root causes to identify and execute on process improvements.
Fast learner with new processes, systems, and technologies, with knowledge of Shopify Plus, Slack & ClickUp platforms being preferred.
Proven track record as a COO, GM - Operations, or related senior leadership role, ideally within
e-commerce + manufacturing
.
Deep operational expertise in e-commerce operations and scaling, ideally with some international exposure.
Exposure to manufacturing, process engineering, supply chain, or quality systems is an advantage, but not essential. More important is proven experience scaling e-commerce and the willingness to learn and collaborate closely with our VP – Manufacturing.
Ideally, have strong experience scaling e-commerce revenue and fulfillment from internal facilities, working cross-functionally across teams.
Commercial acumen to balance operational execution with cost efficiency across all departments.
Passion for sustainability, regenerative practices, and building a positive global impact.
Exceptional leadership and communication skills with the ability to work across cultures and geographies.
What We Offer
An organisation that appreciates transparent communication and is open to innovation and well-considered ideas.
A pivotal leadership role at the heart of a rapidly scaling, vertically integrated business.
The opportunity to shape the future of sustainable bedding and regenerative latex on a global stage.
