**The Opportunity**

This role will provide key leadership across the quality portfolio for our Rosehill plant. In collaboration with the plant management team, you will address and solve quality issues, identify process improvements opportunities, whilst ensuring compliance with quality standards to enhance efficiency and ultimately drive performance within the plant.

With previous experience as a strong people leader, you will manage a team of 4 direct reports who you will support with determining priorities and execution of tasks and projects.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Work in alignment with the James Hardie Zero Harm pledge and workplace safety requirements
- Coordinate the establishment of quality specifications and standards for raw materials and finished product.
- Coaching technicians to ensure consistent performance
- Develop and recommend inspection and sampling techniques, quality control plans or process control procedures to ensure finished products meet quality specifications and standards.
- Conduct research on product defects and recommend modifications to procedures or quality standards where such appear to be warranted.
- Implementing and monitoring all corrective action and communicating status to the plant management team
- Install and supervise inspection and testing procedures for raw materials, in-process manufacture and finished products.
- Review customer complaints to determine quality control improvements
- Provide technical assistance to purchasing staff in connection with the purchase of raw materials, supplies and equipment.
- Prepare reports summarising production and quality problems and action taken.
- Conduct live plant trials to improve quality controls and process manufacture

**Hours: This role will be required to start the day around 6:30am with a 2:30pm finish.**

**About you**
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar role with focus on manufacturing plant machinery and equipment with supervisory skills and experience.
- Tertiary qualifications in manufacturing, science, engineering or quality.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain productive relationships with plant team and the wider business
- Aptitude for hands-on work coupled with strong analytical skills
- Intimate knowledge of quality systems and standards
- Demonstrated and applied knowledge of troubleshooting quality issues.
- Ability to effectively drive change in the workplace
- A strong capability for gap analysis, planning and priority setting
- Skills and ability to shift towards continuous improvement methodology
- Commitment to Work Health and Safety and Quality Management
