About the role

This role is a Product Owner for an engineering and support squad that delivers both production and nonproduction services, planned (PI based) work, along with various other projects over time, ranging from storage migrations, P2V activities and of course, maintenance activities and upgrades for the infrastructure we support. Note that this is a PO role and not an active technical member of support capability; No hands-on required with this role.

We are continuously improving our platforms, systems & patterns to support the business needs as required. The Enterprise Compute remit includes building, delivering, and operating secure platforms based on Mainframe, NonStop, Unix, iSeries as well as providing Storage and backup services, both On-Prem and increasingly in the Cloud, leveraging commonalities and proving a consistent approach to security, controls and governance.

The Storage Infrastructure Product Owner's role is to enable and inspire our multi-disciplinary Storage team ('Squad') to pursue our mission, by guiding them on 'what' work should be completed by the squad. This work includes both production and non-prod support, new and ongoing projects, migrations, and the work to enable key Lifecycle work in the Storage space. This work supports Business requirements and progressing our ongoing efforts to both modernise within our existing datacentre, migrate to new datacentres, and where appropriate, our advance into the Cloud.

Within the Storage Infrastructure team, the Product Owner will also enable the team through the delivery of plans, both long and short term to ensure that we can deliver what we need, working with other closely related product owners to ensure required technical capabilities are scheduled appropriately, as well as managing the financial side of the Storage Infrastructure function alongside the Chapter Lead to ensure we have the budget when it's required.

What will your day look like

You would work closely with the Chapter Lead who leads the technical side of our work in delivery and support

Provides vision, thought leadership and strategic intent to the team

Works closely with the other Product Owners in CDIS (Cloud, Data and Infrastructure Services, our parent organisation), and Delivery teams on scheduling, priority management and capability preparedness

Continues to deliver storage services in the cloud as required by the business

Works with technical, architectural, cross-business teams and other ANZ Business units and teams to understand, capture and manage to the needs of the business as it relates to Storage

Reviews, assesses and prioritises requests and internally identified work to guide the technical teams on 'what' work should be completed by the squad with our customers at the heart of decision making

Develops and maintains a product catalogue along with a product roadmap that identifies tactical and strategic initiatives that maximise value and time to delivery

Engages with other Product Owners and business teams to align priorities and dependencies

Manage the Jira view of the book of work to ensure that at all times, we have clarity on what is coming, what is being done, what has been done, what effort was expended on the work and what work depends on other work

Whilst this is not a direct line management role, the successful applicant will absolutely need to be a leader of people - taking the teams on the journey towards realising our vision
