Our Values Leadership - Our culture, values and accountability are present throughout the organisation.Collaboration - We work in partnership and are better together.Trust - Nothing is more important than the trust between the community and ourselves.Respect - We respect people and genuinely care.Authenticity - What we do rings true and we do what we say.Inclusion - We value all people to create a more equal world.Commitment - We consistently strive towards our mission.Determination - We endeavour to continuously improve.Our BenefitsIn addition to competitive salaries, Council offers the following benefits:Six weeks annualleave15days personalleavePaid Domestic and Family ViolenceleaveCultural/ceremonialleaveTraining and development opportunitiesFlexible working arrangementsUp to11.5% superannuation (increasing to12% on1July2025)Relocation assistance for eligiblepositionsIn-house health and wellbeingprogramEmployee AssistanceProgramFree admission to the Alice Springs Aquatic and Leisure Centre Job Description The OpportunityWe are seeking a dynamic and proactive Coordinator Community Development Officer to collaborate in the development and successful delivery of a diverse range of community programs and events across Alice Springs.The responsibilities of the Coordinator Community Development Officer include managing the development, delivery, and evaluation of community events and initiatives, providing effective staff management, engaging with key stakeholders, collaborating across directorates to maximize community outcomes, preparing high-quality reports and presentations, managing grant applications and acquittals, and performing other duties as required within the scope of the position.Minimum Two years' experience working in community development, event management or related field.Proven ability to effectively plan, promote, deliver and evaluate a range of community projects and events.Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.Strong staff management experience with a proven ability to lead, support and develop a diverse team to achieve identified outcomes.Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to assess information, produce quality reports and convey information in a range of formats, appropriate for the target audience.Experience in managing meetings and consultative processes effectively.Ability to demonstrate great organisation, problem solving and time management skills, including the capacity to work independently and as part of a team.Ability to oversee program budgets and to exercise sound financial judgement, including the application, management and acquittal of grant funding.For more information about this role, please contact Kate Walsh - Manager Community and Cultural Development, at or .
