**About the Role**

In the capacity of a **Ward Secretary** in **Howell Ward**, your role encompasses the execution of various clerical tasks essential for the Department's smooth functioning.
- Admitting, discharging and transfer of patients
- Medical record collation
- Answering ward phone in a timely manner
- Completing tasks for the Clinical Ward Manager
- Provide timely and accurate information in response to queries by patients, visitors, and other customers.
- Provide excellent customer service at all times in line with facility service standards / customer service principles.
- Communicate daily with the Front admission team re changes to patient care requiring an eligibility check
- Patient transfer bookings
- Patient bookings e.g., SKG
- Completion of certificates when required
- Other tasks as required.

- Previous health services experience working with doctors, specialists, or in a hospital environment will be highly regarded
- Proven problem-solving ability
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Ability to complete tasks within designated timeframes
- Ability to excel under under pressure and multi-task
- Proficiency in computer skills with a clear understanding of MS Office suite
- Expertise in medical billing
- A deep understanding of health funds and contract interpretations
- The flexibility to adapt to roster cover changes.

Desirable:

- A certificate in Medical Terminology
- Familiarity in hospital mainframes systems.

**Remuneration**: On offer is base hourly rate ranging from $31.87 - $35.53 + superannuation, exclusive of penalties or allowances

**Requirements**:
